As the youngest member of the Univision family, William Valdés is the social media host on Univision’s “Despierta América,” the happiest home on Hispanic television, featuring four hours of entertainment, news and practical information Monday through Friday from 7-11 a.m. ET/PT. In this role, William is in charge of interacting daily across all of the Univision morning show’s platforms and social networks.
William Valdés will be the social media host of “La Banda,” the highly anticipated music-based reality entertainment competition search for the ultimate Latino super group set to premiere September 2015 on Univision Network.
Valdés moved from Havana, Cuba to Miami in 2009 to further his career as an actor, singer and host. He got his start in show business taking part in plays such as “Una Navidad Espectacular” and “José El Soñador” with Teatro de Broadway 2011-2012, Disney’s “Camp Rock” 2011, “Disney Aladino,” and “To Broadway with Love Annie,” among others. His first big break on TV came with his role as “Sibilo” on the Nickelodeon series Grachi, where he won over the audience and fans throughout the world.
During his acting career, he has taken part in TV commercials, musicals, novelas, his own show on the YouTube digital platform “Nuevon,”, “Prankiando,” and dozens of hosting appearances on several TV networks, including Show Business TV “Extra,” Gente TV, “La Academia” TV Azteca, and “Tu Fama” Mega TV.
In addition to his successful career as an actor, in 2012 Valdés made his debut in Mexico with the young musical group CD9 acting as its leader and filming the video and single of “The Party,” which quickly positioned him as one of Spanish-speaking youth’s favorite artists.
William Valdés lives in Miami with his family, and he loves music and theater.
