Minnie Cardona is the Director of ESOL, World Languages, and Student Access in the district of Seminole County Public Schools in the state of Florida. In addition, Mrs. Cardona supervises the Dual, Foreign Exchange program and Title III and Immigrant Grants. She has a BA in English and Spanish, Masters Degree in Teaching English as Second Language (TESL) and an Educational Specialist Degree in Administration.
Under her leadership, Seminole County Public Schools has implemented six Dual Language schools, K-12 World Languages Program (including all elementary schools), and has ensure that the needs of English Language Learners (ELLs) and their parents are met. ELLs have access to research based resources and curriculum. They are being prepared with 21st century skills. Mrs. Cardona also provides Professional Development trainings for the ESOL, Dual, and World Language teachers in SCPS. Teachers are empowered with research-based strategies, technology, and college and career skills that work for ELLs. We want our English language Leaners and Hispanic students to reach for the stars. We know that if we provide them with the right tools, they will obtain their dreams.
