Elena has been with Consumer Reports for 16 years and currently leads CR’s strategic initiative to reach and engage Latinos. Prior to this Elena focused her efforts on reaching the Spanish-speaking community by offering Spanish language content through various distribution channels including earned media, social media, a free Spanish-language website, e-newsletter, content partnerships and participating in community events.

As a member of Consumer Reports’ Diversity and Inclusion Initiative, Elena was the first Chair of Latinovation, CR’s Latino Employee Resource Group. Latinovation’s goal is to be a resource for CR and work to develop business and impact strategies to deepen the organization’s understanding of this growing market.

Previously Elena worked in CR’s San Francisco office as the Project Coordinator of the Healthy Kids, Healthy Schools project. The project’s focus was to link school children with the state health insurance programs and to work on health policy issues in California.  Elena has over 30 years of experience in program development and implementation, organizing and as a public interest advocate.
